Izack Tiger 6/6/26
Sometimes you go to the backfields hoping to see Josh Owens throw and not only do you get to see Owens, you also get an electric look at Izac Tiger on rehab. Tiger dominated the ACL White Sox and looked too good for the level. It’s a high slot 4SM/SL/SPL mix. Tiger pounded the zone and challenged hitters with little resistance, landing 19 of 23 pitches for strikes. Bulldog mound presence.
The in-zone utility of his SL was notable. SL is an already plus high 80s offering with more depth than tilt. Power SL that Tiger lands in zone or below the zone as a chase pitch with intent. The fastball sat comfortably 96-97 with good carry. Works N/S and changes eye levels. Didn’t see SPL as much but threw one that dropped off table late.
See #2 SP upside with much lower risk than the exciting HS arms on the complex. Hurt his elbow in 2024 Spring Breakout game, so health will be biggest risk factor and something to monitor going forward. Needs to prove he can log SP innings – believe he has the body and ease of operations to do so. SP caliber stuff and understands how to attack hitters with his mix.
Only his third game back in 2026, and I am as sold as I could be from a 2 inning look. Don’t expect he will be on the complex much longer. Looks like he could pitch in HiA or AA now.
